Health Education Programs
We offer a wide array of classes and events such as childbirth education, skin and prostate cancer screenings, support groups, and programs tailored to business and community groups.

Vocational Services
MMC's Vocational Services provides support to individuals with disabilities and also provides technical assistance and training to community rehabilitation agencies, employers and schools.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
MMC offers a CNA training course which includes classroom work, skills labs, and clinical experience. This 11-week course will provide all the training you need to become a CNA and make a positive difference in a patient's stay.

TUSM-MMC Program
Established in 2009, the Tufts University School of Medicine - Maine Medical Center Program (TUSM-MMC) offers a unique and innovative curriculum, exposing students to rural practices and training in a major tertiary medical center. Designed to meet the needs of an increasing demand for physicians in Maine, the program offers a new model of education.

Residencies and Fellowships
The Department of Medical Education manages 12 residencies and 8 fellowships, all approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Our programs offer post-graduate training to over 240 residents and fellows.

Maine Medical Center Research Institute (MMCRI)

Cooperative PhD Program
The research faculty at MMCRI have academic appointments at University of Maine at Orono, University of Southern Maine, and The Tufts Sackler School. MMCRI provides graduate research training opportunities both at the M.S. and the Ph.D. level through these institutions, with thesis research performed in our basic science laboratories at the Scarborough research facility.

MMCRI Summer Research Program (SSRP)
During the summer months, MMCRI provides college and pre-college students with an opportunity to receive an educational experience in biomedical science through the MMCRI SSRP.
