Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine

Our Pediatric Residency Program provides an exceptional education with a breadth of experience typically found only in large centers.  As a tertiary care referral hospital for all of Maine and Southern New Hampshire, we offer state-of-the-art care. 

There are very few places in New England where an infant can have a heart murmur detected in the newborn nursery, receive an instant diagnosis of a congenital heart defect, and have it operated on, all within the same hospital.  On the same day, an older pediatric patient is seen, diagnosed, treated, and transplanted for renal failure.

Our cystic fibrosis center and hematology/oncology programs have received national recognition for excellence. In spite of this honor, we maintain a strong connection to the community, while supporting our programs in international healthcare and rural medicine.
