U.S. News & World Report has again named Maine Medical Center a Best Regional Hospital. In its 2016-2017 survey of U.S. hospitals, it also recognized MMC as one of only 63 out of more than 4,500 hospitals in the nation – and the only one in Maine – to be rated high performing across the board in nine procedures and conditions including:

Maine Medical Center again recognized as a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by the Joint Commission for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, and surgical care.
The Spinal Surgery program has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety in disease-specific care.

2014 “Most Wired” Award: Maine Medical Center is recognized for our IT excellence to improve patient safety and quality, customer service, business process improvement, workforce management and disaster readiness.
The Maine Tobacco-Free Hospital Network, an initiative of the Breathe Easy Coalition of Maine, recognized MMC in 2014 as a hospital that has worked hard to make their campus a 100% tobacco-free environment by awarding MMC the Gold Standard of Excellence Award.
