Maine Medical Center’s Geriatric Fellowship is designed to be a comprehensive program of learning that will prepare the graduate to practice Geriatric Medicine across the continuum of care. With strong clinical rotations and exposure to the latest evidence-based geriatric care models, our graduates have a 100% board pass rate and are heavily recruited for their clinical expertise.
Our fully accredited Geriatric Medicine fellowship provide a supportive teaching environment with diverse experiences in office based practice, inpatient and hospital consult service, and off campus clinical sites at highly regarded nursing homes and assisted-living facilities. With a traditional one-year full-time program and innovative two-year part-time opportunities, our program provides flexibility to suit learners in any stage of their careers.
In addition to superb clinical experiences, we provide a well-rounded didactic curriculum including quality improvement projects, sessions on billing/coding/documentation and training in nursing home medical directorship. Fellows also have research opportunities and support for attending a regional or national Geriatric Medicine conference.
Administered through the Department of Internal Medicine, the Geriatric Fellowship is intended for graduates of accredited programs in either Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
