Maine Practice Network
The Maine Practice Network (MPN) is a joint venture with community internists and pediatricians, community hospitals, and MMC for the purpose of providing medical students and residents an opportunity to experience the practice of internal medicine in a community-based setting. Started in 1991 when internal medicine residents from MMC began working with community preceptors, the network rapidly expanded to include on-site experiences for third and fourth year medical students. Students and residents spend two to four weeks in a Maine community where they are introduced to the office and hospital practice of primary care internal medicine and pediatrics. All rotation arrangements, including assignments, evaluations, and housing accommodations when necessary, are organized by the MPN Practice Coordinator. Learn more about our MPN locations here.
