Apply & Contact
MMC participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), and all PGY-1 residents in the institution are selected by this process. All applications will be handled according to the rules of the plan. We use the electronic residency application service (ERAS).
Each medical student must complete the ERAS application, which includes a transcript of grades, Dean's letter (Medical Student Performance Evaluation) and three letters of recommendation. US Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) Step I scores are required for consideration of all applications. USMLE Step 2 scores and COMLEX scores should be submitted if taken. Applications must be received by October 1st of each academic year. After all of these materials have been received, the application will be reviewed and a decision made concerning a personal interview.
All candidates who interview must hold a valid driver’s license and possess an automobile to enable them to get to offsite rotations/surgeries.
We will be booking all of our interviews through Interview Broker. If an interview is granted, the letter will request that you utilize this system to book your interview. If an interview is granted, the letter will request that you call the department to arrange the interview. Please note that an offer of an interview is not a guarantee that candidates to interview – like many programs, we offer ‘batch interviews’ to groups of candidates, such that response time to interview offers are important in securing a position.
Interviews are scheduled from the middle of October through the end of December. We have a committed group of core physicians who volunteer to interview every year, and include residents as formal interviewers. Candidates will have opportunities to discuss the program with the Residency Director, faculty, and residents, and to tour the hospital and outpatient facilities. The interview day begins at 7:00AM and ends in the early afternoon. Although not mandatory, candidates are highly encouraged to arrive for interviews the evening before to participate in pre-interview day dinners, hosted by one of the residents.
