Center for Tobacco Independence
Are you trying to quit smoking, or thinking about quitting? Perhaps you tried to quit, but found it hard to not smoke? Quitting can be difficult, but every time you try, you will be closer to living without tobacco.
Living Well is a six-week program for anyone living with a long-term health problem including heart disease. This program is only one of the many classes offered through the Learning Resource Center .
The cardiac rehabilitation programs at each of the Maine Heart Center hospitals offer you a second chance. The programs are open to people who have had a heart attack, heart surgery or angioplasty, and focus on helping you change your lifestyle to prevent a second occurrence. They provide nutrition counseling, graduated exercise training, stress reduction education and more.
MaineHealth Learning Resource Centers
MaineHealth's Learning Resource Centers offers a wide variety of Heart Health education classes, and seminars. The Resource Centers also has a large lending library and, computers with internet access that are available free of charge to all who visit the centers located in Scarborough, Portland and Falmouth.
The Maine Heart Center
The Maine Heart Center is a nonprofit organization with hospitals throughout Southern and Central Maine dedicated to delivering superior care in cardiac services. In partnership with cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and anesthesiologists, the Maine Heart Center network offers open heart surgery, angioplasty, cardiac catheterizations, and other cardiac procedures.
