MaineHealth Internship Program
MaineHealth’s student internship program seeks to pair students interested in learning more about various aspects of health care and health systems in Maine with initiatives or programs that need assistance with projects or tasks. The hours available vary depending on organization need and can range from a defined number of hours for a project to steady part or full-time work. Internships typically take place during the summer months in order to expose the student over a longer duration, and in some cases can be scheduled on other extended breaks.
In order to apply for a MaineHealth internship, students must:
- Attend an accredited educational institution, including but not limited to: college, university, or graduate school, medical school.
- Be enrolled not less than half time in a course of study related to the work to be performed.
The MaineHealth student internship program will place students in non-clinical positions within MaineHealth corporate and not at member hospitals or organizations (e.g. Maine Medical Center, NorDx Labs, etc.). Please click on the link for a list of MaineHealth corporate programs, which may offer internship opportunities.
Applications for summer placements are accepted between February 1st and April 1st. Applications will be reviewed in April. Candidates who are identified as a good match will be asked to participate in an interview process with MaineHealth staff. The number of internships available is limited and based on the number of programs requesting assistance and may vary year to year.
