Women's Care

Cancer Care For Women

About Us

Gynecologic Oncologists
Gynecologic oncologists are specially trained doctors who are able to treat cancers of the uterus, cervix, ovaries, vagina and vulva. In addition, women cancer specialists work with a woman if her primary doctor even suspects she has a cancer. This type of physician completes an additional fellowship in advanced surgery and in the chemotherapy required to treat these cancers. Because of the additional schooling required, there are far less of these types of doctors. In Maine, Gynecologic oncologists can only be found in Portland.

As a practice, we aim to treat a woman with respect and warmth. We realize the diagnosis of cancer is a life-changing event. Depending on your commuting distance, we either guide your primary doctor in closely following you after we have helped in treating you or we see you here in our office on a frequent basis. Either way, we continue to be a part of your care even after treatment for your cancer or after you were found to not have cancer.
