Pulmonary hypertension is a disease characterized by an abnormal elevation of the blood pressure within the pulmonary blood vessels. Patients generally have exercise intolerance, which may be associated with progressive shortness of breath, palpitations, lightheaded spells, chest discomfort, or ankle swelling.
