Family
Support Program
The Family Support Program provides
direct service to abused women and children, including
crisis counseling and advocacy and daily
assessment.
Social workers consult with MMC staff on cases of
suspected or documented abuse and provide resource and
referral information, along with safety planning,
training and education. The program also offers a
support group for survivors of domestic abuse.
The goal of the program is to screen all adult and
adolescent females patients for abuse or violence in her
life and to intervene on behalf of all identified
victims/survivors of family violence, including
children, adults and the elderly.
The Family Support Program collaborates with community
service providers to promote safety for victims and
accountability for perpetrators.
