Community Partners Program
Beginning in August 2009, the NNEPC will be training Community Partners to help deliver important poisoning prevention messages at the local level.

Danger! Toxic Chemicals. This is an inhalant abuse prevention video targeted at students in grades 5-8. The video explains the dangers of inhalants and how students can avoid them. It does not show what products are being abused or how to abuse them. The video uses the approach that inhalants are not really drugs, but are poisons, toxins and pollutants. It also has a beneficial section on refusal skills. Publisher Foundation Video, 1-800-328-9000. VHS format, 14 minutes.

Educate: Creating Inhalant Abuse Awareness Together. This video is aimed at an adult audience, particularly those who interact with children - parents, coaches, teachers and health care workers. The video was developed by the S.C. Johnson Company, a manufacturer of household cleaning, personal care and pest control products.

Quills Up - Stay Away! Spike's Poison Prevention Adventure. A poison awareness program designed for preschool children. It features Spike the porcupine puppet and makes it easy and fun to teach this important topic. It includes a video and classroom activities as well as educational materials for parents/caregivers.

Snakes of New Hampshire
There are 11 species of snakes that are native to New Hampshire. New Hampshire Fish & Game maintains a database of all reptile and amphibian reports through its Reptile and Amphibian Reporting Program (RAARP). Poison Prevention Display - This display shows how easy it is to mistake medicine for candy. By showing 12 pairs of look-a-likes, including nicotine patches and band-aids, the display shows how important it is to keep all medications away from children. Information on the back makes it easy to answer questions about the medications shown. There are seven kits located around the State. In addition to the displays, there are brochures about basic poison prevention and lead poisoning, a home safety checklist, magnets and stickers. These displays are available by contacting:
