Philosophy of Care
I feel that Family Medicine is the place where preventive medicine can most effectively be practiced. I believe that preventing disease can be more effective than trying to treat it, and that a long term relationship of mutual respect with patients is one of the best ways to achieve this. As a physician my main focus is on the patient's physical health. But I believe that other areas of the patient's life -emotional, mental, spiritual - are also vital to their well-being. As a Family practitioner I need to keep all of these aspects of my patients in mind.
