Members of SMH Stroke Team Attend National Conference

Western Maine Health Vice President of Clinical Services, M. Patricia Cook, RN, MBA, EdD, shared recently that four members of the Stephens Memorial Hospital (SMH) Stroke Care Workgroup attended a conference in Providence, RI.

Attendees were Rebecca Chagrasulis, MD, Director Emergency Medicine, Nurse Director of Emergency Services, Darlene Glover, RN, MSN, Performance Improvement Specialist, Shelly Shibles, RN, BSN and Joanne Moulton, RN, Emergency Services.

The conference was sponsored by the American Heart Association and focused on practical approaches to improving stroke care.  This conference is part of a five conference series focusing on cardiovascular and stroke care.

The SMH stroke care workgroups goal is to improve the quality of care they provide to stroke patients by aligning treatment with the most current scientific guidelines.
