Clark Achieves Medical Library Association Designation

NORWAY, ME –   Deborah A. Clark, Health Librarian at the Stephens Memorial Hospital Health Information Library , was recently approved for membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals by the Medical Library Association (MLA). 

The Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) is MLA’s peer-reviewed professional development and career recognition credentialing program.  AHIP promotes lifelong learning and exemplary professional performance by recognizing achievements in continuing education, teaching, publishing, research, and other contributions to the profession.

This AHIP credential denotes the highest standards of professional competency and achievement in the field of health care information and must be renewed every five years.  Someone who has the AHIP designation must participate in continuing education courses and other professional development activities to maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully support the institution’s mission and goals. 

Clark has served the Stephens Memorial Health Information Library for 9years.  Stephens Memorial Hospital's Health Information Library is a complete resource for all types of consumer healthcare information.  The Health Information Library contains information on hundreds of consumer health topics. Books, videos and most other materials in our collection may be signed out or utilized in our comfortable, sunny reading room. A private video viewing area is also available for your convenience.
