Preparing for Birth Classes Offered at SMH

The Family Birthplace at Stephens Memorial Hospital will be holding their next Preparing for Birth classes in June, these classes are helpful to both new and experienced parents.

Classes will be held Thursday Evenings June 5, 12, 19, and 26th from 6:30 - 8:45 pm in the Harper Conference Center in the Ripley Building at the hospital. Hilary Ware, RN will be the instructor. 

Join a group of other expectant parents to learn about labor and delivery.  Learn relaxation techniques that will help you work with labor.  Coaches will learn how to assist through the process and share in the joy of the baby's birth.  Other topics include making a birthing plan, comfort measures, stages of labor, cesarean delivery and newborn care. 

The cost of the class is $50 if you are delivering your baby at SMH and $60 if you are delivering elsewhere.  Insurance covers the cost of the class.  Please call The Family Birthplace for more information.
