PACE Introduces New Paramedic

Western Maine Health Senior Vice President of Clinical, M. Patricia Cook, RN, BSN, EdD was pleased to announce today that PACE Paramedic Service has hired Sue Yurek, Paramedic.

Sue, who hails from Bath, has deep ties to the area with her mother, and many family members residing in Bridgton.  She is familiar with the community and is very glad to be serving here.

Sue is a Bates College graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.  She received her Paramedic training at Southern Maine EMS and graduated first in her class.  She became familiar with the PACE service while performing 156 hours of clinical time here.  Sue has also worked for Northeast Ambulance Service.

PACE Director Robert Hand, says "We are very lucky at PACE to have some of the most experienced Paramedics in the field, but its always refreshing to have a new Paramedic on staff.  Sue brings with her life experience as this is truly her third career.  The first in the Insurance Industry, the second as a Mom, and now EMS.  I had the opportunity to work with Sue on her very first day at PACE, and she stepped into her roll as a lifesaver without hesitation.  She clearly loves the field and is a truly caring and compassionate provider.  I am sure that as she has the chance to interact with patients and other EMS providers in this area that they will come to see her as the asset that I do."

When not serving the community as a Paramedic Sue is a stay at home mom of 2 residing in Bath with her children and husband.
